Lindy and Brian’s wedding {Colorado wedding photography}

We are so excited to be shooting Lindy and Brian’s wedding next month. The ceremony will take place at a beautiful church in Arvada, Colorado and the reception will be held in Denver, CO at Mile High Station. Lindy is a Bronco’s cheerleader and this promises to be an over-the-top celebration. We could not be more happy for Brian and Lindy, such an awesome couple! We were able to get permission to do their engagement shoot in the Bronco Stadium (Sports Authority Stadium). It was a comical moment when the sprinklers for the field came on! You should have seen us run!

The Reception: Part 3
The Brown Palace ballroom is absolutely gorgeous, particularly after the magic created by Emily Lenich of Particulars Planning and the folks at Pink Monkey. Fabulous food was served by the Brown Palace and the incredible music was provided by Denver’s number one dance band, Funkifino. As if that was not enough, the evening was capped off by a casino party. The evening absolutely perfect! Congratulations Ryann and Nick!

Ryann and Nick: Part 2, the ceremony
This gorgeous wedding was held “in the round”. For those of you unfamiliar with that term, it means that the ceremony can be observed by every seat in the gorgeous Brown Palace ballroom. Ryann and Nick were married by a Jewish Rabbi under a Chuppah, which symbolized the Jewish home by the cloth canopy and the four poles. It is a tradition that harkens back to the ancient days of the tent of Abraham. A beautiful ceremony in a beautiful place…

Ryann and Nick had one of the most amazing wedding celebrations we have ever seen! The ceremony and reception were held at the legendary Brown Palace Hotel in downtown Denver, CO.
Ryann and Nick had a romantic “first sight” meeting on the upper floor of the hotel, followed by the ceremony and reception in the Brown’s magnificent ballroom. All the details and planning were handled by Emily Lenich of Particulars Planning. Pink Monkey Solutions transformed the ballroom into a fantasy of color and light. The ultimate Denver dance band Funkiphino rocked the guests all night. Congrats, Nick and Ryann! It was spectacular!

Ryann and Nick’s wedding at the Brown Palace was a gorgeous celebration of their marriage in front of many friends and family. Ryann and Nick chose to see each other before the ceremony. It offered them a private moment to share their feelings of seeing each other for the first time on their wedding day, a day that had been anticipated for a long time. We also had a wonderful opportunity to shoot some fun portraits of the bride and groom with their bridal party. Have you ever seen a bridal party that size? Obviously, they are loved dearly by many, many people.
We have chosen to divide their wedding into a three part blog post as the entire day was eye candy!

Fossil Trace Wedding Photography, Golden, Colorado

We could not be happier for Kacee and Colan as they start their new life together! Beautiful people…beautiful location…beautiful weather…a beautiful day in every way. We are so honored to be there! One unique part of this wedding was the awesome bridal party-they were an extremely tight-knit group and had known each other for years. Everyone was over-joyed to see these two tie the knot. The setting of their nuptials was the Fossil Trace Golf Club with breathtaking views of Golden’s mesa skyline. The flowers were gorgeous compliments of Dore at Stems Flower Shop. After the ceremony, we followed the couple out on the golf course in separate golf carts to take advantage of the beautiful grounds. Then, of course, the real party began and went on into the night. Kacee and Colan, we could not be happier for you! All of the details of this wedding were handled expertly under the direction of Laney and Joel of Authored Events. Katie + Jeremy get married :: part 1

September 18, 2010 was a much hoped-for and long-awaited day. Jeremy and Katie married at Bethany Lutheran Church in Cherry Hills Village, CO and had their ultra-modern reception at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science in Denver. There were so many beautiful details to their wedding, we’ve decided to divide up their blog post into two parts. The wedding was beautifully designed by Emily of Particulars Planning. Due to Emily’s direction, the entire day was completely flawless.

We first met up with Katie at The Parlour downtown where the bride and the bridesmaids had their hair and makeup preparations. The bridesmaids were all from out of town and had all known Katie for a long time. It was evident that all of them were thrilled that Katie and Jeremy were getting married.

Check out the gorgeous and unique cobalt blue stained glass in the church. It was a perfect setting for their wedding colors. Katie walked down the aisle with her father to the sound of a pipe organ. Since Katie and Jeremy did not see each other prior to the wedding, the big organ sound and her radiant appearance really added to the drama of the moment.

Alli and Andrew ‘s wedding slideshow

On July 31, 2010, Andrew and Alli exchanged vows at the beautiful St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church. I was unprepared for its astounding old-world charm and beauty. I felt like I had just stepped into old Europe. We then visited Alli’s alma mater, the campus of DU on our way to the reception site at The Cable Center. They had the greatest bridal party that were up for anything we threw at them. The dancing went late into the night and the couple made a hasty exit amidst sparklers. Enjoy the show…

Jennifer and Brent get married {Colorado wedding photography}

Calvary Baptist Church and Terrace Garden at Ken Caryl

Congratulations to Jennifer and Brent! We are so thrilled to have had the privilege of shooting their wedding. They met at Baylor University, fell in love and now have a wonderful life before them! Since their church is such an important part of their lives, it was the obvious location choice for their “first look”. In case you’ve never heard that terminology, that is when the bride and groom have a special meeting arranged prior to the wedding ceremony. We then left the church with the bridal party and headed to a nearby park. Weddings are always crazy and unpredictable but this was a new one, even for us. There was a real locomotive going around the park-I’m guessing its main passengers are children-but they allowed the entire bridal party to climb aboard for a photo op. Really fun! We all returned to the church for a beautiful ceremony given by their pastors. The main take-away message I received was that marriage is meant to make us holy, not happy. I think there is something very profound in that message and just wanted to share it with our blog followers.

After the ceremony, the couple was whisked away to Terrace Gardens. More photo ops on their gorgeous grounds (and maybe even the nearby golf course) and then onto a night of dancing, dancing and more dancing. Jen and Brent’s first dance is my absolute favorite! (and we get to see a lot of first dances). The first unusual part was that the father/daughter dance came first. That was followed by a “seemingly” awkward couple’s dance that was interrupted by an apparent error by the DJ. The music then continued with numerous tracks for which the bride and groom had choreographed awesome dance moves to. It was an incredible surprise that only the DJ, bridesmaid and myself were in on. Great job on making such a memorable and fun first dance for us all to enjoy. The evening ended with the bride and groom running to a very decorated car amidst fireworks.

Jennifer and Brent have a beautiful love story and a long happy marriage ahead of them. We are grateful that we were chosen to photograph them and preserve their memories. Here is just a few favorites, many more to come!

Save the Date! Katie and Jeremy

One of the things I love the most about shooting weddings is the engagement session. No major timelines, wedding day stress, or crowds…it is just a golden opportunity to work together and have a lot of fun. One of the greatest perks is that we get to see what the couple loves regarding their photography and we gain their confidence and trust that we are going to definitely deliver amazing images on the most important day of their lives, their wedding day.

We first met Katie and Jeremy in December when wedding planner extraordinaire, Emily Lenich of Particulars Planning, introduced us. Emily has helped them so much. They have about 6 months to go before their wedding date and, thanks to Emily’s awesome guidance, all the big decisions have been made and they can just sit back and relax and enjoy their engagement. Katie and Jeremy will be getting married in September in a beautiful Denver church with the reception at the ultra-chic Museum of Nature and Science. To contrast their urban wedding day, they chose Red Rocks for the backdrop of their engagement shoot. This allowed them to bring along their beloved dogs, Bella and Riley. We created these cards for them to send out to their wedding guests. Since Katie and Jeremy are not from the same hometown, not all of their guests know both bride and groom-this is a great way to let the world know who is getting married. It also helps their guests clear their calendar and make plans to attend the big day! We have more awesome images to share later, for now here are their Save the Date cards …
