I was so privileged to shoot a newborn session with baby Dominick. This precious baby at age 8 days old! We shot his parents wedding in Breckenridge a year ago and now they have asked us to photograph their little guy as a part of our Bebe program. So precious, so tiny and, oh, so beautiful! Truly an early Christmas gift to his parents!

If this image does not get you in the Christmas spirit, I don’t know what will!

Meet Adelaide…the sweetest little baby on the planet! Here she is on Day 12 of her life–absolutely precious! It was such a privilege to do her photoshoot–did I mention she is my niece?!! I’m probably a bit biased but I think you’ll agree. We shot this in our studio in Evergreen, Colorado.

Mothers of Preschoolers International — Teaching moms how to take better pictures…

Next Wednesday, December 15, I get the privilege of speaking at our local chapter of Mothers of Preschoolers International. The topic will be subject near and dear to my heart–photos. I remember wanting so badly to capture my child’s true personality and, then, as if on cue, the moment the camera came up, the cute moment turned south. Sometimes the smile turned into a fake grin or, more often than not, a battle scene ensued and the magical moment was lost. Unfortunately, when my kiddos were little, I was not a professional photographer and did not have the knowledge of lighting and composition that I have now. These moments are fleeting and you want to make the most of it. I love passing on what I know. Obviously, there is a time and place for professional portraiture and, of course, I hope everyone remembers me but, in the meantime, get out those digital cameras and take the best pictures you can with a few simple principles in mind. I will be speaking at the Lookout Mountain Community Church’s MOPS chapter at 9AM on Dec 15, Wednesday morning. If you would like to join us, please call 303.526.9287 prior to Wednesday.

We always put our heart and soul into every shoot and this one was extra special. We have known Ashley and Jason since they commissioned us to shoot their wedding at Cherokee Ranch and Castle back in 2007. Since then, we have shot one of her closest college friend’s wedding and are booked to shoot her sister, Amanda’s wedding, next April at The Curtis. And now…the next generation. They have a very incredibly precious baby and we are privileged once again to photograph one of life’s fleeting moments, their newborn. We could not be happier for this new little family. It was such a treat that Ashley’s mom was available to come with Ashley and Jason to view the images tonight in our studio. It really does come down to those awesome relationships that make us love what we do and of course, we are always happy when we get to present some killer shots such as…

Sometimes you just get that magic moment in family photography that captures everyone’s personality. I love this image of this family. It is all in their expressions. Family photography reminds me just how much we are all changing. This is our third shoot with the baby and she changes so much in just three months that I can hardly recognize her. Just blink and these girls are in grade school, blink again and they are leaving for college. I guess that is why I love photography and feel it is such an absolute essential part of the family. These moments are fleeting and, if you are always the one taking the pictures, you are not in the shot. The really awesome part is that this photo will grow more and more valuable to this family over time, as the girls change and grow older. Just wanted to share this special moment with this family…

OK-I am not sure it is even possible to get any cuter than this…I am pretty sure this baby is the ultimate in baby good looks! This is our second shoot with her. Isn’t he the cutest little guy you ever saw?! He was so adorable-sitting in the meadow and going crazy with the texture of the grass. The wonders of childhood! We should all be so thrilled to sit in the grass–I think we can learn a lesson on enjoying life from this little 6 month old. Here are just a couple from this shoot, I am holding back my real favorites for his parents to see when they return from Japan. More to come…
