Tim and Anna get married!!

What a place for a destination wedding!

We first met up with Anna at a gorgeous home filled with art. We had a great time shooting some beautiful bridal portraits of Anna. We knew she was beautiful after meeting her and Tim on their engagement shoot, but we were blown away with how stunning she looked in her wedding dress and cowboy boots. Yes, cowboy boots! I love it! The bride then transported up the mountain in style, a gondola. I don’t think too many brides from Madison, WI get to their wedding in a gondola.

The wedding took place on the deck of The Sevens with a hurried re-location to the porch when the rain came, just as the ceremony began. It was beautiful and the bride’s parents told us that they had rain on their wedding day as well. A rainbow appeared just as the ceremony ended, we were told this is a sign of good luck.

The bride and groom and the wedding party then loaded up on A Charter Company’s bus for a photo op and a round of toasting for the new couple. We returned to The Sevens for a reception of feasting, toasting and dancing with a special dance and karoke song to welcome the bride to her new family. Congratulations!!!

We are so excited to do what we do. One of the many perks is making good friends with our clients. And some of those clients are just over-the-top! Dave and Chris were married July 12 at Wild Basin Lodge. Chris thought every detail out perfectly and their wedding was absolutely lovely. It was a privilege to be their photographers. These guys even brought us a gift while on their honeymoon (now that is thoughtful!) Chris has been such a faithful blogger on Project Wedding, providing inspiration to countless brides and talking of her experience. You can read about it here:

Another baby on the way (read on–another client is expecting!)

Just recently we posted about the news that Brandon and Nicole were expecting their first baby (we shot their Vail wedding last year) and now we can repeat the announcement about Chris and Shelly. Chris and Shelly were married in March in Evergreen. It is so thrilling to work with a couple during their engagement, shoot all the intimate, serious, spontaneous and, sometimes crazy moments, on their wedding day and then get the news of their expanding family. Shelly and Chris have a beautiful love story and this is just icing on the cake! Congrats!

Yesterday we recieved the awesome news that one of our favorite couples are going to have a baby next May. We could not be happier for them! It is so exciting to see the progression from engagement to ceremony to marriage and, now, a family. Congrats!

This is just one of many, many favorites I have from our one-year shoot with this little guy. We have shot him at 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and a year and it is hard to tell which one was the best. It has been a lot of fun to document all of his growth and changing expressions throughout his first year. His parents John and Rebecca have been great friends for many years.

Today as I was editing photos of a recent family shoot, I realized that we all can really learn a lot from the kiddos in this shoot….See for yourself.

Most of all, don't forget to be awed by the beauty that surrounds you!

Better hold onto the important people in your life!

Sometimes you just need to kick up your heels

Sometimes you have to fly by the seat of your pants

A good belly laugh only gets better when it is shared

It's a lot more fun to run through the leaves than walk (even better-try running with airplane arms)

It was so nice to see so many recently engaged couples at the Boettcher Mansion Bridal Show. I just love talking to people in love and just starting the big process of planning their wedding. It is really exciting and one of the greatest parts of this career-we get a front row seat (or is it a backstage pass?) to the biggest day of their life. How cool is that?! We get the privilege of preserving all those special moments with the photographs. We love doing it! Here’s wishing all of you that I met yesterday the very best!
